Our two best substitutes for parmesan
In connection with the fact that we have this craving for comfort food (here you will find our recipes for mac&cheese, and tomato sauce) we have started to think more and more often about parmesan. There is something about parmesan and comfort food. And so we thought it was time to split our two best substitutes for parmesan, which gives us the same comfort as the original.
Of course, these vegan varieties do not melt like real parmesan does, so there is nothing you use on pizza or the like. But in all dishes where you just have to sprinkle a little for the sake of taste, these two ideas are our two best substitutes for parmesan! And since they only contain dry ingredients, they have a long shelf life and can be stored in a glass jar in the fridge for several weeks.
Here you have our simplest recipe for vegan parmesan with only four ingredients (plus salt of course). This substitute for parmesan goes with everything – pasta and omelette for tomato sauce and lasagna. And for those of you who do not tolerate nuts, we can really vouch for our pumpkin parmesan below!Print
Instead of parmesan
Cashew nut parmesan
2.5 natural cashews
4 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Pumpkin seed parmesan
1 dl pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
1/2 clove garlic
1 tablespoon cold-pressed olive oil
2 krm flake salt
Put everything in a blender and mix until you get a nice consistency. Store in the fridge to keep it fresh, where it will keep for several weeks. Sprinkle over everything that gets in your way!
