5 New Guest Writers On FP

It’s time to present some of our new guest writers. We are growing so fast and in recent months our nutrient hunter team has been expanded with as many as nine different chefs, dietitians and other nutrition experts.

Here are some of the newest to the team!

Camilla Ahlqvist
For those of you who have been following us for a while, you may remember that we were in New York a few years ago and did some PR when our first book, Food Pharmacy, was released in English. And since Camilla, then married to a childhood friend of ours, is who she is (social, warm and generous), she invited us and all her American friends in the media industry to her apartment in the West Village and let us stand there to brag about the book, while she herself offered a variety of delicious vegetarian eats.

Now a few years later Camilla lives in Sweden, which not only means that we 1) have the opportunity to meet her much more often, but also that 2) she has started writing for us about all the good food she cooks, and about her experience with breast cancer and about the journey back to health. Read her first article here.

Cassandra Mechura
Cassandra is another one of our guest writers who moved to Sweden from the U.S. due to love and on a beautiful spring day our paths crossed at Yogayama’s lunch restaurant here in Stockholm. Cassandra is such a self-playing orchestra you know, when one and the same person plays drums, piano, violin and harp while blowing in a harmonica. In other words, she’s the queen of many talents – she’s a chef, certified health coach, wicked at social media and an excellent food photographer/styler (just to name a few talents). She’s out of this world kind too, a little superwoman really. Oh yeah and she writes like a god, which is why she has translated both our English blog and most recently our third book The Nutrient Hunter.

Cassandra’s philosophy is to inspire people to make small changes in their everyday lives in order to achieve sustainable long term change for wellness and the planet.  Check out one of her best recipes here.

Maria Berglund Rantén
Now it was many years ago since we got to know Maria so exactly how we got in touch with each other is a bit unclear, but maybe it was through a mutual friend? No matter when, where and how, it was love at first sight! Maria is, in addition to a living encyclopedia in everything related to nutrition, gifted with the world’s most beautiful humor. And since we are too, we found each other right away.

As the icing on the cake, Maria is a trained nutritionist in London and specializes in autoimmune diseases. And that is what she will write about here on FP in the future (here you will find her latest article), and not about her sick humor.

Graeme Jones
The first time we met Graeme we did not meet Graeme but his colleague Mia who is married to our childhood friend Gustav. The second time we met Graeme was thus the first time we met him and this completely unforgettable meeting took place in our office over a cup of tea (or was it coffee?).

Graeme is trained in functional medicine and is both CEO and head of clinic at Nordic Clinic Stockholm – specializing in individualized care that can prevent and treat chronic diseases. Graeme has done a large number of tests on us and, in addition to getting Mia to go from insomnia to total sleeping beauty in just a few months, he has also taught us everything and a little more about our hormones, bacterial flora and vitamin needs. Here you can totally nerd yourself into Graeme’s articles.

The EQ Gym
We round off this post by welcoming our friend April Wickström to FP. None of you who listen to the Food Pharmacy podcast have managed to avoid our nagging about this wonderful person? So April is the woman who taught us to meditate two years ago and who really gave us the last piece of the puzzle or whatever you want to call it, mental health. We had both been in therapy for several years and wallowed in our problems and worries, but it was only when April came into the picture that we learned to go from thought to action.

Today, meditation is as natural a part of our day as vegetables, probiotics and toothbrushing. Sometimes we meditate ourselves with our mantra, but just as often we run one of April’s guided meditations. Here you can read more about her business and take part of her program, and here you can immerse yourself in her articles.

And with that we put an end to today, but we can already promise that there will be a new post soon with more new stars in FP’s hunting team. All gifted with knowledge, but minus rifles!
