Cream Of Wheat With Oats, Cinnamon And Fried Apples
Sponsored by Nutrient Hunter
Last week we ran on a new porridge recipe – cream of wheat only made with oats. This recipe is really worth a minute or two of your time. This recipe slightly magical. It’s totally cream of wheat but without the wheat.
Since it doesn’t contain any wheat that makes it a healthier option. The trick is that you mix oatmeal with a hand mixer and then boil it with water, by doing this you not only get a different texture from the porridge but also a different taste. And this is where the recipe begins to defy reason. Because suddenly the oatmeal tastes like cream of wheat!
(Absolutely illogical considering that it only contains oats, but what can we say?)
We gave our porridge a fiber boost by adding our own fiber blend Gut Flora Fibers. A portion of porridge contains 0.75 dl mixed oatmeal, but since we realized very quickly that we will want to make the porridge again (and again and again), we mixed a larger amount of oat from the start and poured into a large glass jar so it’s ready for next time.
We topped ours with fried apple slices and sprinkled with cinnamon You do as you please, but being as that it is apple season we highly recommend the warm spicy apples.
