Not Your Grandma’s Pea Soup
This pea soup is just what early fall time needs. An easy peasy (sorry, had to) recipe that’s light and refreshing but still warm and cozy.
Not Your Grandma’s Pea Soup
1 cup green peas (frozen works)
2 garlic cloves
½ yellow onion
fresh ginger
chili flakes
lime
preferred milk
sea salt & pepper
Start by covering the peas with enough water in a pot to cover them. Toss in the garlic and onion and let simmer for a few minutes until everything is slightly softened.
Pour the soup into your blender (or use a hand blender if your blender can’t do hot), add a bit of lime, fresh ginger, chili flakes and preferred milk. Blend to a consistency you desire (we personally like it to still have a bit of texture) and season with salt and pepper. This recipe is so simple it doesn’t even need exact amount, cooking by tasting your way through is more fun then following a recipe to a T, so get creative!
