Up Your Bonfire Game
There’s something about making things over an open fire outdoors that feels so cozy. And though the typical campfire may have sticks adorned with puffy sugar clouds and hotdogs over it, we thought we’d breathe some new air into the fire with a few experiments that are both fun and nummy!
Stick Bread
(1 dough ball)
1 ½ cups oat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp psyllium husk
⅛ tsp salt
1 ¼ cup water
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Add a little extra water if the dough is too dry or a bit of extra oat flour if the dough is to sticky. Stick a piece of dough on the stick and roast gently over the warmth of the fire. If you’re feeling fancy then roll a piece of dough out into a snake and wrap it like spiral around the end of the stick instead of just a ball.
Grilled Banana Boats
bananas
dark chocolate
Cut a slit into a few bananas lengthwise but not all the way through. Push pieces of chocolate into the banana and stick a grill fork through it. Roast close to the fire until the chocolate is melted and the banana is soft and warm. Enjoy with spoon.
Fiery Popcorn
organic popcorn
2 metal mesh strainers
Place ½ cup of popcorn in one strainer and put the other on top to form a round metal “net” around the popcorn. Hold over the fire and the popcorn will pop!
