Our Top Five Smoothies
In the midst of everyday life throws it can be challenging to get both good and nutritious lunches, dinners or weekend snacks. Our best tip nine times out of ten for getting the puzzle together is: make a smoothie. We have lots of varieties up our sleeves, different colors, different taste and different textures, all sure to please the varying preferences of the family.
Smoothies are packed with nutrition and they fit just as well in everyday life as on out and about on an excursion. We’ve gathered recipes for our five best smoothies. Try them all and find your style!
Green Parsley Smoothie
(1 glass)
1 large handful of parsley
5 celery stalks including tops
1 apple including core
5 romaine salad leaves
1 avocado
1/2 lemon
a splash of water
Put everything in your high speed blender and mix into a smooth smoothie.
Liquorice Smoothie
(2 glasses)
1 cup kefir or other prefered plant-based yogurt
1 1/2 teaspoon liquorice powder
2 dates
a pinch of ground cinnamon
4 ice cubes
Mix everything in a blender. The original recipe contains kefir but of course it works to replace the kefir with any plant-based yogurt if you are vegan.
Golden Smoothie
(1 glass)
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 teaspoon cinnamon
a pinch of ground cloves
1 small piece of grated ginger
1 green banana
½ cup of mango
a large splash of any plant-based milk
1 teaspoon coconut oil
a pinch of black pepper
Mix everything in your blender and vips you have a smoothie version of our turmeric shot.
Kebnekaise (the Tallest Mountain in Sweden) Smoothie
(2 glasses)
2 handfuls of baby chard leaves (or other green leaves)
2 handfuls baby spinach
1 cucumber
1 lemon
1 piece ginger
2 celery stalks
1 avocado
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Mix until you have a really smooth smoothie.
Pink Beet Smoothie with Raspberry and Lime
(1 glass)
3 small beets
a small piece of fresh ginger
1 cup of raspberry
½ cup beet juice
juice of half a lime
½ cup prefered plant-based milk
Mix everything in a really good high speed blender (one that can handle the beets – or use pre-cooked beets) and add a few pieces of ice towards the end.
