Yummy Apple Crumble with Cinnamon, Oats and Stolen Apples

It’s apple season, and this truly is the perfect apple crumble. Grab your flat cap and head out on this year’s first apple hunt. If you’re not lucky enough to have an apple tree in your backyard, feel free to steal some from a neighbor. See you in a bit!

Good job! Line up the apples in front of you and give thanks to Mother Earth.

Slice the apples, place them in a pie dish and sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top. You don’t have to peel the apples. Remember, most of the nutrients in fruits and vegetables are found in the skin.

Time for the crumble! Place 1.5 cup oat flakes, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp pure vanilla powder, 3 Tbsp honey and 4 Tbsp coconut oil in a large bowl and mix well (use your hands). Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the apples and bake in the oven at 300° Fahrenheit (or 150° Celsius) for 30 minutes or until the crumble is browned.

Easy as a pie? If not, here’s a quick recap.

Apple Crumble
(serves 8)

6 stolen apples
1.5 cup oat flakes
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pure vanilla powder
3 Tbsp honey
4 Tbsp coconut oil

Preheat the oven to 300° Fahrenheit (or 150° Celsius). Wash and slice the apples, and mix with cinnamon (we know, the apples are peeled in the picture, but you really don’t have to do that). Place them in a pie dish. Make the crumble by combining the rest of the ingredients using your hands. Sprinkle the crumble on top of the apples and bake in the oven until the crumble is browned, for around 30 minutes.
