Two quick ice creams.

When you realize how fast and easy it is to make your own ice cream, you will never again buy regular ice cream. No need for an ice cream maker, nor sugar or patience. You just need the following things:

  1. Something frozen. Preferably something sweet. Like banana or frozen berries.
  2. Something liquid. Like coconut milk, yoghurt or juice. Not compulsory, but this will make the ice cream soft and creamy.
  3. Some kind of spice. Optional, but don’t we all love cacao and cardamom?

A few weeks ago, we made an ice cream with the taste of chocolate and orange. And we only have one thing to say: Yummy.

Chocolate and orange ice cream
2 frozen bananas
1/2 or 1 small orange
2 tbsp cacao

Fruits are just like humans, they vary in size. If the bananas are, let’s say, slightly smaller than regular ones, and the orange is slightly bigger, you will end up with a softer ice cream. Keep that in mind. Add the orange piece by piece, and stop when the ice cream reaches the perfect consistency (we did not, and our ice cream got a bit too soft).

And! Late last night when we got home, starving but happy, we emptied the freezer and tossed together another ice cream on the fly. Since we were awfully tired, we suggest you take the proportions with a grain of salt (figuratively speaking, you’re not supposed to add salt to the ice cream). Go ahead and play around with the recipe.

Blueberry and cardamom ice cream
2 frozen bananas
4 tbsp frozen blueberries
about the same amount of frozen mango
1 tsp cardamom
4 tbsp plant based yoghurt of your choice

Mix. Add yoghurt until desired consistency is reached.
